The grass-harps of madmen clatter
to a nine-nine rhythmfirst wave, second wave, the sand
is entering itself with pleasurewill you, third wave, notice it;
the fourth wave breaks the surfacebearing nothing but the fifth wave birth
upon the sixth wave shore;the guilty weaken quickly as the seventh wave
goes down to spread itself upon the breastof all the eighth waves in the world
before the ninth wave turns them under.(written by me years ago – photo from last week)
Deep Thought: “I think a good scene in a movie would be where one scientist tells another scientist: “You know what will save the world? You’re holding it in your hand.” And the other scientist looks, and in his hand are some peanuts. Then, when he looks up, the first scientist is being taken away to the insane asylum”
Today I am grateful for: The sensation of soft
Guess the Movie: “When are you people going to learn? It’s not about who’s right or wrong. No denomination’s nailed it yet, and they never will because they’re all too self-righteous to realize that it doesn’t matter what you have faith in, just that you have faith. Your hearts are in the right place, but your brains need to wake up.” Answer: Dogma, 1999.
Winner: tearsign.
Where Do I Live?
by Cindy Sheehan
One very positive aspect of my public anti-war, pro-peace stance is that it has put me in contact with so many people all over the world. I believe that my willingness to share my heart and tragic story (and in the process, tell the truth) helps people open up to me in ways that they cannot do with another. In the past few days, I have been bombarded with horror stories about what our government is doing to innocent Americans. (Rest of article here.)
End of Day: 8:48 pm

Nice poem, funny deep thought (reminds me of a Woody Allen joke), and the movie is Dogma
Dogma is right!
I love the ocean….
Is that your poem? It is gorgeous. I love how “pleasure” seems to come from nowhere and yet is also so perfect – then you reread it and hear it inside the world “clatter”. That is really nice.
I really like the poem…
Oh how I wish I was there right now.
I admire Cindy Sheehan.
I signed up for the CommonDreams e-mail update. Thanks for the link.
I love the ocean. Sitting, watching the waves, and listening to the surf is my favorite part of being here in Delaware. Wonderful poem.
That is aan extraordinary poem I love it.
Obviously I also love Dogma.
Great poem. Absolutely gorgeous photo. They go nicely together.
Beautiful poem and ocean. I so miss the ocean.
I’m going to steal the article.
Nice work….and the photo is breathtaking. Beautiful!
That photo is my new oommm place! Thank you for sharing!
What a cool photo, I can almost hear the waves. And the poem is fitting as well. It has a rhythmic feeling, similar to meditation, with a cosmic feeling too.
There’s a musical question on my latest entry that I would be interested in your repsonse to.
I like this very much! wonderful rhythm, I also felt a peacefulness and order, a sense of balance which I really appreciate today more than I can say. thanks, I’m glad I made it here (I always am, once I get here!)
peace,
Doris
