Leopard The leopard hovers,
shining,
in the bush.
The wind shifts.
His hunger waits,
ahead of him,
upon the veld.
Deep Thought: I think the most beautiful sunset I ever saw was on page 4 and 5 of The Book of Sunsets. Today I am grateful for: An air-conditioned workplace to go to

The Al Franken show is on Air America Radio – no TV yet. I remember hearing though that he was going to do a TV version – similar to what Imus’ TV show. i.e. just filming him in the radio studio.
Haven’t caught the McEnroe show yet. I watch next to no TV nowadays.
Very lovely. My daughter will adore this, so I’ll be sure to share it with her.
Haven’t read the book of sunsets, is there such a thing? The leopard is gorgeous. Happy mid-week!
Just to reclarify, all Deep Thoughts are by Jack Handey (see sidebar) from Saturday Night Live. They just crack me up.
nice words as the big cat gets ready to leap…
perhaps we should all embrace that kind of air conditioning…

And thanks for the support on the neighbour, but I honestly don’t think he’d understand no, so I plan never to let it get even that far…though I am now shutting all my first floor windows each night, heat or not, and will start leaving my kids’ rooms lights on so he thinks they’ve come home. Better to be safe than sorry. He hangs out in front of his house staring at this house for hours; it’s quite unnerving.
I hope that the smog alert is gone by the weekend. It makes it really hard to breathe when the air is like that.
