  • Deep Thought:  I used to think Mom’s biscuits were special, because she said she put a secret ingredient in them. Years later I asked her what the secret ingredient was, and she said it was “love.” Right then I felt like the biggest sucker in the world.

  • Oil in the dough, such as shortening or lard or margarine is helpful, but not necessary to getting fluffy biscuits.

The thing that is key is to make sure there’s enough moisture in the dough.  Make it so sticky you can’t touch it without coating it with flour.

  • That mom got it right….everything in life is better with that kind of love in it….

  • I thought you were going to say she confessed to buying them!!!

  • I think I say that sometimes…  eekk.  Better love than carob chips.
