    I am the grass -
    unnoticed but deep green,
    teeming with complex life,
holding up the sky and down
    the
    earth,
    subject to death by fire,
    blown by wind,
    soddened by water,
    and I persist.

Deep Thought: “They say the mountain holds many secrets, but the biggest is this: “I am a fake mountain.”
    Today I am grateful for:

”You’re the most beautiful, exciting thing I’ve ever seen in my life and I don’t know anything about you. “  Answer:  American Graffitti, 1973.  Winner:  thenarrator.
    The looming crisis with Iran
    August 19, 2007
Even as the body counts piled up in Iraq last week — including the most deadly suicide truck bombings since the war began — the Bush administration continued to ratchet up tension with Iran by signaling its intention to designate that country’s Revolutionary Guard as a “global terrorist” organization.
This is the first time the United States has placed the armed forces of a sovereign government on its list of terrorist groups. The purpose of such a designation would be to allow Washington, and perhaps other governments, to block and disrupt the Guard’s vast international business financial operations. • Ugh, Bush…..
    *sparkle

  • (a) the poem is beautiful
    (b) American Graffiti
    (c) Which makes the US Special Forces another terrorist organisation. It will take 50 years to sort out the damage done to the planet by the Bush Regime

  • (a) thankyou
    (b) spot on
    (c) if not more

  • I truly believe he intends to do as much damage as possible before he leaves office…a year and two months is a long time…

  • Did you write that poem? It is lovely!

Really, when I think of the damage that this regime has done to our country, the world and our kids future – I cringe. But what scares me most is that there are still so many people out there that support him.

    Nice to see you here.

  • Came back to see your photo – good work.

Plumbing a blessing when it works – a lot of cursing when it doesn’t! I’m lucky that Craig can do it for us. He has to be very careful because it can be really hard on his back. Thankfully all went well today.

  • Maybe they are bringing back the draft.  They will probably rope some of the animals from the mosh pit at the Ozzfest and send them over there to do their elbow blocks and body checks and get their high school wrestling team t-shirts covered with blood, for real.  Then if they survive in one piece, they can come back home and race power boats forever on small lakes and wipe out trout populations and contaminate the ground water.

I think that’s ever so lovely and the human race will get about what it deserves.

  • When madmen set the agenda, any type of evil is possible, if not probable…the Imams of Iran and GW Bush, all birds of a feather…

    Regards…

  • Nice, nice, nice.

I think you’ve introduced a new perspective for me. Between the photo and the poem, I’m thinking “NO” when it comes to mowing the “lawn.” Mooing the lawn would be preferrable, except for the messy consequences.

  • Thanks for dropping by – it was nice to hear from you!

  • ryc, you’re welcome. (I’ve even removed a mouse from the house that my cats were annoying)

  • I think sometimes grass persists for the sake of children.  Who else appreciates it more?  Very nice poem :)

  • Thanks for stopping by!  and thanks for the comment – I DO love my cats, but even I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed…  Just don’t tell my hubby!  lol

  • RYC:  Rats!?   I would freak out!

  • love the poem on top. interesting title. i had to look up the definition. i love learning new words.

  • In our part of the country with abundent sunshine and rain grass grows visibly in the course of a day,,but it is nice under my feet….the poem is perfect…things common are valued all the more when you think of what you miss by not really seeing them.I wish all the war mongers could be locked up in some kind of compound with just each other for company and the rest of us could be about the business of living….

  • Very nice poem. Did you write it?

I need to watch more tv. I never have any idea the answer to your movies. Have a great Sunday!

  • I like the picture.

  • you’re a poet!  I didn’t know it!    no, lovely, really!  I will have to check up on you more
often.  I just have little time to read on Xanga.  I love the community but have to focus
much of my attention on my career and spiritual growth right now.

  • Wonderful words! It’ll be interesting to see how the US is going to fare under a new President, regardless of which party he/she is from.  It’s going to be a big mess, I think.

  • Hey Lady! Glad you’re reading if not posting. Hope you are OK.

The pool, therapeutic for me yes. By intention no. It is called knowing the parents (chronolocally enhanced folk) are coming and forgetting to turn the heater off. Results: absolute heaven to me.

    Happy Labor Day, dear heart.

  • What a beautiful week this week, eh?

  • RYC: Giggle. I am really organized in the classroom, but in my personal life and personal endeavors – NOT SO MUCH!! We’ll see how it works out.

  • RYC: the link should be working now.. .thanx for letting me know.
