  • UPDATE: See the similarity? Clues were Washington, rich, activist and looks like his dad. I’m amazed nobody figured it out.
    THURSDAY WHATEVER

Know who that old guy is? Clue – he turned 80 yesterday. Clue – for his present, his son, who is famous and looks a whole lot like him (and has the same first and last name), gave him an endowment named for him of law scholarships worth $33.3 million for 5 students a year at the University of Washington if they commit to a career in public service. Clue – he’s a Washington law graduate himself, long-time lawyer and civic activist. The program is designed to last for 80 years. I tell ya, that’s a gift that warms my heart. I don’t hang out in the kind of circles where we can front that level of bucks for anything, but I do believe if you’ve got it (and about 1% of the country does) it sure beats spending it on yachts and playboy mansions and gambling casinos and whatever else most rich people spend their money on. Happy Birthday, Old Guy!

Deep Thought: “It was really sad when I went to visit my friend Jim at the state mental institution. He was convinced he was on a tropical island with no cares and no worries. It took me a long time to convince him that no, he was in a room with bare walls and a bare bed and he was wearing a straitjacket.”
Today I am grateful for: Belly laughs
Guess the Movie: “ I don’t want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.” Answer: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 1975. Winner: Iby1014.
    Where’s Hillary on Iraq?
    by Jimmy Breslin

Beautiful. I am in receipt today of a mailing from the Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign. This is different from the letter she sent out by e-mail in a rush. I don’t know who got the e-mail. She announces it is 1,600 words long. That much of her sentences could end reading. The letter I got is more than a dead dry political mailing. I found it such compelling reading that I drop everything and share with you promptly and thus prominently. (Rest of article here.)

  • Hey why did you try and convince your friend he was in a room in a straightjacket? He was in a better place. lol Judi

  • i just never get here in time to answer the movie trivia, you silly english k-nig-its.  i told them we already have one!

  • Sorry I haven’t responded to your question on my site re a Prayer Warrior. Mostly because I know how I feel about that, but I had never tried to put it in print before. At this point I would describe it thusly:  As my friendship with Jesus Christ evolves and grows, I find that I want to share more and more of my daily life with Him, and prayer is the conversation that enables me to do that. A second aspect of a Prayer Warrior is the mode of readiness, caring and preception with which I interact with my friends and others that I meet during the course of my day. This mode helps me be aware of situations or needs in their life that can benefit from God’s touch and input. When I sense such a need it is a natural thing to bring it up with my Father God, and ask that He oversee as He sees best. I have a Book of Prayer Threads, created over time, and based on the main people in my life. It evolves over time as well, weaving all aspects of their life into a wonderful tapestry of prayer. I have so much more to learn through prayer, but it is a mainstay in my life. My daughter says that is you ask Mom to pray for a situation or person, you better be ready for God to act…because something is bound to happen, and it might not be what you expect. I just claim the promise that He will always respond to the petition that is offered according to His will.

I know this got a little long, but I hope that it answers your question.

    Blessings, Jeanie

  • Wow, now I know why people are going to protected lists. I have a surge of people being nasty on my list at xanga. Never had that before. Mostly kids being smart aleck I think. Some of the kids on Xanga are so nice I just love them then there are those. Oh well kids want to be recognised one way or another I guess. I finally was having such a cranky day I just went to bed feel so much better now. I think that I was just tired. Judi

  • I’m inviting nastiness at my own blog today.  I praised Ed Murrow the other day, and one of my readers tried to tell me McCarthy wasn’t so bad.  That got MY ire up, I can tell you.

Y’all come visit and help me out, OK?

  • I admired the good deeds that rich people do for others. Thank you for sharing!

  • Well, he looks like Dick Cheny, if it is his father, where did he go wrong?

  • I don’t know who he is, but he looks pleasant. Refreshing too, to read of his lifestyle. I will have to come back to see who this guy is, he seems like a nice one.

RYC: You are right, feelings always change. I don’t worry about the feelings as I know they go away eventually. We have to feel sadness to enjoy happiness. For me happiness is a state of being , but since we are only beings, we cannot stay in that state all the time. I also enjoy the questioning of life , happiness ect. Thank you for a welcome and wise comment.

    Peace and Love:)

  • That is awesome…
