  • Ant attack

I can’t figure out how they’re getting in. I tried crawling on my hands and knees back to the source which seemed to be at the edge of where the wall meets the floor near my front door. I poured some dishwashing liquid over the spot and like a bad buddhist I wiped out all the ones I could find on their long trail from the front door to the kitchen. This morning the trail was back. So now I poured more dish soap and some ajax over the spot and committed more micromurder. Am I going to have to go find ant poison? Will my cats eat it and croak? Stay tuned.
Deep Thought: Too bad there’s not such a thing as a golden skunk, because you’d probably be proud to be sprayed by one.
Today I am grateful for: Not having to drive at night if I don’t want to

  • Have you tried that chalk stuff? I don’t know the name of it but you can get it at a Home Depot store – its a chalk stick and you draw it on the floors and whatnot – where the ants are – they crawl over it and tend to die… it doesnt hurt animals or people though

  • THanks for the tip.

  • my kids had an ant problem…they tried everything and eventually used a spray bomb….

  • I started to read up on the web about it and got overwhelmed.  Looks like there can be nests of them under your house and sometimes people have to call in professionals.

  •  How about those little round ant traps? That way the cats can’t get to the chemicals, but they take care of the ants. I always feel guilty killing insects, too.

  • try coffee grounds… they take them back to the nest and the acidity kills the eggs.

  • wow, that’s organic

  • Sprinkle ground cloves around the entrance. They may find another way in, but they won’t use that one anymore, and the room will smell nice. Also won’t kill the cats cause one taste and they spit it out and make ugly faces at you.
