Feeling kind of blue today, not sure why. It’s a lovely day after all the miserable heat we’ve had – perfect for gardening, so I’ve spent the day so far catching up, pruning dead branches, picking up fruit from the ground, snipping the ferns that keep growing out from under the back porch. Many visitors to the birdfeeders, including a gang of tiny titmice, a big flicker, and a squirrel. I put a bird water dish among their hanging feeders so I can watch them dip their heads and then point their beaks up to let the water run down. The cats are all napping. I can hear one snoring in the doll’s bed in the corner.
Deep Thought: If there was a terrible storm outside, but somehow this dog lived through the storm, and he showed up at your door when the storm was finally over, I think a good name for him would be Carl.

Sorry you’re feeling blue today. Sometimes days are just like that. Maybe the cats napping are making you want a nap too. I find that taking a nap sometimes takes away that “blue” edge.
